I have to start this page with an apology to Edna Walling. Remarkably enough, having done a very quick search, no one else appears to have lifted the title of her iconic book, A Gardener's Log. Any way it is my intention to post thoughts on gardening with flowers and vegetables and the garden industry generally. I don't claim to be a gardener like Edna Walling or like most of the people I hope will read this, but I can give a grower's perspective to any gardening questions you might have.

Hot Labels for Seriously Hot Chillis
Click on this image to see a slide show of this week's Spec. Load.
We took delivery of our brand new Vegie Labels this week and we are so excited I thought it was worth publishing a photo. In fact I took a few. Keep 'em simple, clear and let the gardener know what they can achieve.
The other exciting news it in the detail: the pic above with the uninspiring background (there's only so much I can crop) is Chilli Super Hot Combo, one of several introductions for this Spring including Thai Basil, Lettuce Leaf Basil, Endive, Baby Spinach, Rocket mix, Radicchio and Radish. Getting very gourmet. And as Michele says the labels are good enough to eat.
Chilli Super Hot combo is a blend of Habanero Chillis: Orange, Red, Yellow & White. As well as being the hottest Chilli the Habanero (C. chinense is the parent that mad Chillis like the Ghost & Scorpion are bred from) has a fantastic compact growth habit that is ideal for containers and as I regularly say Chillis and Capsicums are much easier to produce excellent crops from thatn Tomatoes.
