I have to start this page with an apology to Edna Walling. Remarkably enough, having done a very quick search, no one else appears to have lifted the title of her iconic book, A Gardener's Log. Any way it is my intention to post thoughts on gardening with flowers and vegetables and the garden industry generally. I don't claim to be a gardener like Edna Walling or like most of the people I hope will read this, but I can give a grower's perspective to any gardening questions you might have.

Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, a flying visit.
Gerbera Cartwheel Strawberry Twist. Click on the image to see a slide show of this week's Delightful availability list.
It's MIFGS week, possibly by the time you read this it will be all done and dusted. This image is from The Philip Withers' garden presented by Gardenworld Nursery, of course it just happens to feature Gerbera Garvinea in the lush, textured, colourful planting scheme.
Click on the image to see my pics taken at around 7.30am on the opening day, it was generally a bit dark for great photography. You do get another perspective on the show, like the netting and plastic bags covering the Hanging Basket competition.
