I have to start this page with an apology to Edna Walling. Remarkably enough, having done a very quick search, no one else appears to have lifted the title of her iconic book, A Gardener's Log. Any way it is my intention to post thoughts on gardening with flowers and vegetables and the garden industry generally. I don't claim to be a gardener like Edna Walling or like most of the people I hope will read this, but I can give a grower's perspective to any gardening questions you might have.

Celebrating the opening of Lygon Street Nursery
Digitalis Dalmatian White. Click on the image to see a slide show of this week's Glowing availability list.
I attended the Opening of a new retail nursery last night. Lygon Street Nursery, right at the top of Lygon Street, Brunswick East. Michael Khalil brings his sense of style and design to the most boutique of boutique nurseries and Michael has plenty of style and design sense having project managed the Fleming's Australian Garden, Best in Show at Chelsea 2014.
This nursery crams an awful lot of soul and Lygon Street community into a tiny space. To survive in the age of everything big, you have to create and present something unique and different. Michael and his team have done just that. Good luck guys, we don't see enough new and interesting businesses.
For everyone else, get along to Lygon Street and soak up some inspiration.
